Your data never leaves your browser
No analytics, no servers, no tracking. Everything stays on your device — period.
Built for how you actually browse
Real use cases from developers, researchers, and power users.
"I used Better History for two years. It's solid, but the JSON export and session management in MyHistory are game changers for my research workflow. I can now export structured data directly into my analysis pipeline."
"The keyboard shortcuts alone are worth installing. D for date filter, H for hour, Esc to clear — I never touch the mouse when searching my history now."
"Auto-cleanup with domain whitelisting is exactly what I needed. My docs.internal.co references stay while everything else gets cleaned up weekly. Simple and effective."
"I work in healthcare and privacy matters. MyHistory sends zero data anywhere — no analytics, no telemetry. That's rare for a free extension."
"The virtual scrolling handles my 50K+ history entries without breaking a sweat. Chrome's default page chokes at a few thousand. Night and day difference."
"Session management is underrated. I save my research tabs as named sessions and restore them the next morning. Better History doesn't have anything close to this."

I built this because I was frustrated
Chrome's history page hasn't changed in years. I kept losing important research links, couldn't export data for my workflow, and had no privacy controls. So I built the tool I wished existed.
MyHistory is a side project — built nights and weekends. No venture funding, no ads, no data selling. Just one developer trying to make browsing history actually useful.
Common questions
Does this collect my browsing data?
No. Everything stays on your device. No analytics, no servers, no data collection. The extension makes zero network requests after installation. Unlike some alternatives, we don't use Google Analytics or any tracking service.
How is this different from Chrome's history?
Chrome's history page is limited — basic search, no filtering, no export, no privacy controls. MyHistory adds RegEx search, date/hour filtering, 4 export formats, auto-cleanup, domain blacklisting, sessions, browsing statistics, and keyboard shortcuts.
How does this compare to Better History?
Better History is a solid extension with 100K+ users. MyHistory differs in several ways: we offer JSON and Markdown export (Better History only supports CSV and HTML), session management, browsing statistics, recently closed tabs tracking, duplicate detection, keyboard shortcuts, and export preview. We also use zero analytics.
What export formats are available?
CSV, HTML, JSON, and Markdown. Each format comes with a preview so you can verify the data before exporting. Pick date ranges, filter by keyword, or export everything.
How does domain blacklisting work?
Add a domain and MyHistory stops recording entries for it immediately. Add via settings, the popup interface, or the extension options. Blacklisted domains are completely excluded from your history.
Can I schedule automatic cleanup?
Yes. Set cleanup to run hourly, daily, or weekly. Define retention periods from 7 to 365 days. Whitelist important domains to protect them from automatic deletion.
What are sessions?
Sessions let you save your current open tabs as a named snapshot. Later, you can restore all tabs from that session with one click. It's like bookmarking an entire browsing state.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Every feature works without internet. The only time you need a connection is to install it from the Chrome Web Store.
Will it slow down Chrome?
No. MyHistory uses virtual scrolling to handle 50K+ history entries without performance issues. The extension only activates when you open the popup — it doesn't run background scripts that consume resources.
How do I install MyHistory?
Visit the Chrome Web Store listing, click "Add to Chrome", and confirm the permission prompt. The icon appears in your toolbar immediately. Takes about 10 seconds.
Can I import from Better History?
Not yet. CSV import is on the roadmap for a future release. For now, you can run both extensions side by side — they won't conflict. MyHistory starts recording new entries from the moment you install it.
